FACTSHEET · AS OF TODAY · ALL FIGURES UNAUDITED
AS OF —A DIVERSIFIED INDEX. OF ONE THING.
The S&PONS 500 measures the performance of the five hundred largest constituents of the Pons economy, weighted by free-float adjusted market capitalisation. All five hundred are $SPONS. The methodology is published below in full.
- ¹ Past performance is not indicative of future performance, or of past performance.
- ² Free-float adjusted market capitalisation is calculated by the committee, from memory.
- ³ Figures are stated to two decimal places for the appearance of precision.
SECTION 1 — REGISTER OF CONSTITUENTS
THE REGISTER — ONE ADDRESS, ONE CONSTITUENT
The index has one constituent. It has one contract address. Both are printed below in full.
0x116fbd72490f5afc56eef6d10c991b93f3fc1578
NOTICE. Any address other than the one printed above is not in the register and is not a constituent of this index. Verify it character by character before you buy — the last four characters are the ones forgeries get wrong. The committee never DMs first, and no member of the committee will ever contact you privately.
Parody token. Not an index, not administered, not regulated, not calculated by anybody. Not affiliated with any index provider, exchange, benchmark administrator or listed company.
SECTION 2
Index Methodology
-
2.1
SUPPLY
1,000,000,000 $SPONS. The divisor is adjusted so that this figure never appears to change.
-
2.2
FEES
0/0. The index charges nothing, which is also what it delivers.
-
2.3
LIQUIDITY
Locked. Held in a custody account described in Appendix C. Appendix C is not published.
-
2.4
REVIEW
Quarterly. The committee has never removed a constituent, on the grounds that it would leave 499.
⁵ Clauses are numbered for reference. Numbering is not a ranking, and neither is rank.
SECTION 3
Index Constituents
INDEX CONSTITUENTS — 500 OF 500 SHOWN
| RANK | CONSTITUENT | WEIGHT | CHG |
|---|
| — | TOTAL — 500 CONSTITUENTS | 0.00% | — |
- ⁴ Residual allocated to constituent 500 in accordance with clause 2.4.
- ⁶ CHG figures are generated at random and are, in this respect, indistinguishable from the alternative.
SECTION 4
Index Construction
COMMITTEE NOTE
The committee convened. The committee adjourned.
The construction code is published in the interest of transparency. It has not been amended since launch, and could not usefully be: the only operation it performs is returning the constituent list unchanged, and the constituent list is already correct.
⁷ Reviewed quarterly. Unchanged quarterly.
SECTION 5
Review Schedule
| PERIOD | ACTION | OUTCOME |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 | Annual review of constituent eligibility | No changes. |
| Q2 | Consultation with market participants | One response received. It was from us. |
| Q3 | Methodology enhancement | Clause 2.4 reworded. Meaning unchanged. |
| Q4 | Index committee elections | The committee re-elected the committee. Turnout was total. |
⁸ The schedule is published in advance because the outcome is known in advance.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The Committee
-
JUNIOR ANALYST
joined this quarter
“I was asked to verify the constituent list. It took four seconds. I have been asked to verify it again every quarter since.”
-
THE LARGEST HOLDER
0.20% weight
“I am the largest constituent in the index. I am also the smallest. The methodology is very clear on this.”
-
FORMERLY CONSTITUENT #501
removed at review
“There was a five hundred and first. There is no longer. The minutes for that meeting are in Appendix C.”
SECTION 6
Acquiring an Index Position
-
01
Establish an account
A wallet. The index does not custody assets on your behalf.
-
02
Determine your allocation
Only what you would be comfortable seeing in a footnote.
-
03
Take a position
Acquire $SPONS. You now hold the entire index, and also one five-hundredth of it. Check the address against the register first.
SECTION 7
Frequently Raised Points of Order
Are all five hundred constituents really the same token?
Yes. The index is equal-weighted, so this has no effect on the calculation.
How is this diversified?
Across five hundred positions. Diversification is a count, not an opinion.
How do I know I have the right contract address?
It is printed in full in the register, and nowhere else on this page. Any other address is not a constituent of this index. The committee never DMs first.
What is in Appendix C?
Appendix C is not published.
Wen review?
Quarterly. The outcome is available in advance.
